a sale...

Happy Friday... I woke up this morning and immediately thought about the tent sale at SR Hughes.  I bribed the boys (good behavior = donuts) and we were off... I would say we had success...

i have wanted this Kartell t-table for several years... today she was discounted and mine... here she resides in our bedroom...

each of the boys wanted one of these Kartell stools... umm... okay...

my best score... these two ghost 23 chairs... i do love a slipcover... they were $50 each... yep... i'm serious... i realize that i need to press the covers...
If you are a local, the sale goes on all weekend... check it out!

Jude + Watercolor...

I had big plans for this large blank canvas (thank you, Kari)...  Plans changed when Luke woke up a bit moody...  So, instead of begging and pleading with Luke to participate, I decided to head to the backyard with Jude and this blank canvas...  Here is what we came up with...  He guided the color choices, I added a little water...

choices...

Our oldest son, Luke just completed fourth grade.  Next year he will go to middle school.  At our school, on the last day of fourth grade you participate in a "blues to khaki's" ceremony/reception.  So special and so sweet...
The parents had arranged a swim party for the class to attend afterwards.  While we were at the reception, Luke told me that he did not want to go to the swim party, and that he just wanted to "hang out with you" (me)...
Jon thought his choice was odd, I thought is was pure perfection.
We first went to have lunch with Jude who is in kindergarten.  Then we ran a few errands, riding with the windows down, listening to rap as loud as he wanted to...  He even sang a few poor choice words... I did not care...  He just smiled...
So much better than standing in line to jump off of the diving board...  I am lucky.

today after his little ceremony...

this came home in his poetry book...

soccer this spring...

perfecting his yo yo skills...
Jon and I talked this evening about the pressure on children today.  It is so different from what we remember.  In our opinion, some of it is good, but some of it is not.  We are trying our best to find balance in all that we do with our little guys...  To consider commitments and choices with great regard.  Competitive sports and extra activities are expected at such young ages... Shame on our generation... We value our simple, sweet life and plan to cherish these lazy days ahead...

a forever hat...

Inverni.  Sort of a birthday present to myself... I predict that I will have it forever...  Go here to check them out...
